I do not know why, I wish I had an answer, cause if I did I'd certainly let you guys know how to fix it or do it myself. Now I'm fulling willing to admit that perhaps I'm just retarded and maybe it's something on my end, but, from what research I've done these issues seem to be affecting other users as well. I just wanted to bring it to your attention. I'm not trying to force these issues down your throat, nor am I trying to whine and complain to get it fixed. Now, I really do appreciate what you guys have done, desmume is one of the best emulators I've had the pleasure of using. If you want I'll get pictures of the latter, but, I don't wish to make this topic any more image heavy than I already have. The above picture is the fourth gym in the game with a gimmick of being in complete darkness besides a flashlight, and obviously this gimmick is ruined if there's no darkness.
All the areas that contain heavy fog, darkness, or the blizzard area seem to not render darkness at all, or in the case of hail/fog, it seems to be render quite a bit lighter than it is in the source game. I'm sure this is another visual glitch that you guys know about, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. The last glitch I'd like to report with Open Gl is anything that has to do with the fog/darkness/blizzard effects in the game. It's much more of an eyesore than either the bushes or the black spots combined personally.
It's quite frequent in the game, covering more locations than I could possibly care to list, but just about every body of water has this issue with Open GL on. The next picture shows it much betterĪs you can tell, the water overlaps the borders of the small pond here. As you may notice the water's borders are now messed up. Now, here comes the other issues involving Open GL 3.2/old.Īs you may notice with OpenGL 3.2 activated the aforementioned black lines disappear, but a much bigger glaring problem happens. This one isn't as annoying since I can tune it out unlike the bushes, but, I thought I'd mention it just to be thorough with what I wanted to say. On the overworld, anywhere that isn't inside of a building or cave, black lines and spots appear almost randomly as you travel along, I don't know if this and the one above are related, but I thought I'd mentioned it regardless. I'm sure you know about this one, but I thought I'd report it anyway. It's not a huge issue mind you, but, an annoying one none the less I find. I do not believe this happens on the original hardware, and it is quite an eyesore. As you travel up and down route 212 here, said black lines will start to fade in and out quite glaringly and annoyingly. I'll include some pictures below explaining what's wrong and maybe something positive will come of this.Īs you may notice along each bush is a black line. Also, yes, I've downloaded the latest dev version and tried it before coming on here to talk about it, all of the following pictures you're about to see were taken on the latest release dev version as of this post (4812). The first two involves SoftRasterizer (which I don't know if you're still supporting or not, but I'll report it regardless), the latter has to do with open gl 3.2/old.
This is NOT related to anything JIT as far as I can tell since this was present in official releases of 9.7 and 9.8 as well which did not contain JIT if I recall correctly.
